The basic technique course aims to impart the fundamental skills that a kayaker must have to fully exploit the potential of the kayak and paddle, with their correct usage, and of one’s own body.
The course will be conducted with sea conditions to be determined based on the participants’ previous experience in the discipline.
Requirements
The participant must be enrolled in the ASD AZENKAYAK
Equipment
The company provides the sea kayak, paddle, and life jacket.
The participant will need to provide the remaining equipment (e.g., dry jacket, wetsuit, booties, etc.).

- The kayak: features and peculiarities
- The paddle: features and peculiarities
- Essential equipment for safe navigation
- The paddle stroke (catch, pull-through, release, recovery phase)
- Propulsion (forward stroke, backward stroke, braking)
- Circular paddle stroke
- 180° and 360° turns
- Course correction and turning
- Lateral movement
- Low brace
- Use of kayak edging
- Bow and stern rudders
- Use of torso rotation
- Knots and carabiner usage
Costs and duration
The cost is 80 euros per person, and the duration may vary depending on the weather and the participants’ needs.
At the end of the course, a certificate of participation from ASD AZENKAYAK will be issued.
